Rachel Torres, OTR/L (Virtual Therapist)
Rachel earned her Masters in Occupational Therapy from Texas Woman's University in Denton, Texas in 2019. She has since worked in multiple outpatient pediatric clinics, a skilled nursing facility, and in the public school system. Rachel has worked with children ages 4 months through 18 years with a variety of challenges and diagnoses including autism, ADHD, Downs syndrome, developmental delays, sensory processing differences, executive functioning disorder, traumatic brain injury, and picky eating.
Rachel is passionate about helping families use their child's strengths to work towards their goals. She believes that OT should be based on a child's interests and fun! This means therapy is customized to each family's needs and routines so a child can have the most success. Rachel is an online therapist which allows for therapy to occur in the comfort of a family's home. Online therapy means a child can learn new skills in the environment where they need to use them: in their home with their family! Rachel will provide parent training during each online session in addition to therapeutic games and activities to help children meet their goals.
In her free time, Rachel enjoys hiking with her husband and dog and is always up for a good book. She loves exploring new places and learning to cook delicious meals.
